Listings
Listings are how you publish endeavors, events, classifieds, opportunities, and affinity groups on freestate.app. Create from Add Listing, manage drafts and published items from your listings dashboard.
- Sign in, then open Add Listing from the sidebar (+) or go to /add-listing.
- Choose a listing kind: Endeavor, Event, Classified, Opportunity, or Affinity.
- Complete each wizard step (details, contact, categories, optional filters, images). On the last step, click Create Listing.

Events
Events are a listing kind with calendars, maps, and recurring schedules. Browse on /events; post new events via Add Listing with kind Event.
- Browse upcoming events at /events — use sort (upcoming, newest, oldest), payment filters, calendar, and map.
- Open an event card for details, RSVP links, and occurrence-specific URLs when recurring.
- To post an event: Add Listing → Event, set schedule (including recurrence if needed), location, categories, and photos.

Chat
Chat (/chat) combines direct messages, place-based group rooms, political entity threads, and games lobbies. Local rooms unlock when your home town is set.
- Open Chat in the nav or go to /chat.
- Direct messages: start from a member profile (?dm=slug) or an existing connection in the sidebar.
- Group chats: town and regional rooms appear when your home address matches; set home town in profile/settings if rooms are locked.

Politics & civic tools
The politics dashboard (/politics) surfaces action items, bills, representation, and explorer tools for NH civic engagement. Add political actions through Add Listing.
- Open Politics in the nav for the Granite State civic dashboard.
- Use tabs: My Action Center, My Town, My County, NH, Federal, and Explorer — each filters context to your residence and interests.
- Star issues you want to track; issues you add appear under Issues you added.

Profile & settings
Your public profile, home town, privacy, notifications, security, and listing tools live under Profile and Settings. Home town unlocks local chat rooms and regional discovery.
- Edit your public profile from /profile or your member URL /u/your-slug.
- Open Settings (/settings) for account, notifications, security, appearance, privacy, listings shortcut, and billing.
- Set home town in profile — this drives local chat unlocks and proximity features in Chat.

Getting started
Getting started on freestate.app means creating an account, setting your home town, and using Events, Chat, and listings. This path is about using the app; if you want in-person gatherings, browse Events after you sign in.
- Create an account via Sign up; returning members use Sign in.
- Start with Show my town (/show-my-town) to see what is listed near you, then open Discover for the calendar and directory.
- Set your home town on your profile so local group chats and regional discovery unlock.

Install the app
freestate.app is a website you can install. Chrome and iPhone use the browser install flow. GrapheneOS and other de-Googled Androids should download the signed Android APK so the launcher icon is not badged by Vanadium or Brave.
- On GrapheneOS, Vanadium, Cromite, or similar: open /install and download the APK.
- Allow that browser or Files to install unknown apps, then open the downloaded APK.
- On Chrome with Play services, use Install app in the browser menu instead of the APK.
